Sound Healing has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing. Whether through the use of mantras or Icaros, these sounds have the intention to move us from a place of imbalance to a place of balance. Sound helps to facilitate shifts, stabilizing frequencies in our brainwaves and attuning them. By using rhythm, harmonic overtones which interact with our nervous system, allowing the frequency to entrain our brainwaves and then it becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

Laying down and slowing your breath, you prepare yourself to become the receiver of sound. In this place of stillness you become more open and aware of each sound that comes in. Sound will open the pathway of stillness, as mantra’s help you to arrive at the still point of meditation. It is our own profound ability to listen – to perceive, feel, grow, create and heal that brings about the profound effects.

Our “subtle body” is our energetic body. This body is where our life force energy exists, referred to as prana (Breath). The subtle body holds imbalances and traumas that can eventually manifest in our physical bodies, which is why it’s important to heal and balance the mind, body and spirit. The frequency produced by the sound bowls can help blocked energy from past experiences move toward the energetic filtration system of each chakra, so that the stuck energy can be recycled back into our life force. Tibetan people have practiced sound healing and consciousness transformation with a musical instrument known as a “singing bowl. Considered a symbol of “the unknowable,” and their vibrations have been described as the “sound of the universe manifesting.” Tibetan Singing Bowls naturally cause chakras to self correct. The sound waves run, correcting frequencies to the unbalanced chakras, bringing them back to normal functioning. Chakra balancing is used to correct the chakra so that the endocrine gland and all the associated structures and organs effected by that gland balance and begin to function correctly. Chakras are the connection between the spiritual aspect of our being and the physical.

“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”
